16wk old pullet, normal yesterday morning. Free range on 1/4 privacy fenced acre. Went to put her up last night & she was uncoordinated with a slight head tilt to the right. Put her up in the coop for the night, was even more uncoordinated this AM. I am not convinced that it’s wry neck, as she is “rolling her neck”, almost like a vestibular issue/Vertigo, flailing everywhere. Also, she has what appears to be swelling on the left side of her face, near her ear. I have given her 0.25ml PenG intramuscular, also using poultry nutri-drench. She has zero coordination, cannot right herself long enough to eat or drink. What else can I do for her? I’ve moved her to the Chicken Isolation Unit at my house. I’m concerned that it’s an inner ear infection & not wry neck.

I have injectable B12, can I give her that? I will go scramble her some eggs right now.
that i'm not sure of i was giving injectable cattle b complex let me bump some people that can answer that. Give vitamin e (human) scramble egg in that I had to make real watery feed for Rocky he wouldn't drink.

If you have any Nutri dench or poultry cell you can use that also

Poor thing!
Can you look inside her ear for any pus/infection - the inside of the ear normally should look "clean" if you notice debris or yellow gunk let us know.

She has swelling on the left side of her face near the ear - look for a tick or any sign of a insect bite.
Any bruising in the area of swelling - bruising can look green.

You have Nutri-Drench, I would direct dose her with that at a rate of 1cc per 3 pounds of weight. Wry Neck treatment is Vitamin E and B1 (Thiamine) or you can use human B-Complex. Egg has sufficient selenium for the uptake of E.
B12 is just Cobalamin so I wouldn't use that.

To me swelling is a good clue - maybe a bite/peck/injury is the cause - head trauma? The vitamins may off support for trauma as well. The term "Wry Neck" is sort of a blanket term "neurological symptoms" that can be caused by numerous things - head/neck trauma, vitamin deficiency and disease like Marek's are a few.

Also just to cover bases - think if there's anything toxic, moldy or rotten she could have gotten into - spilled oil/anti-freeze, fertilizer, weed killer, any feed that may be on the ground that molded, compost or even a dead animal. Just throwing that out there.
