I know this is an old thread, but we just went through it yesterday. One of my lady buttons got out of the enclosure. After three failed attempts at capturing her, she flew far away into 10 acres of thick dense woods. My husband and son were out there until midnight, but to no avail. However we will keep trying, and the one thing that helped us find her easily is a thermal camera!! Unfortunately she flushed pretty far when we approached her. Then we got smart and got our fishing net! If you can get a hold of one, and the bird is in a reasonable vicinity (and still alive) you will find them. We are hopeful still
