Hi, first off...thanks for all the advice you gave me on the meds..I will NOT use any of the antibiotics I have on hand. I would like to take her to the vet but, like I said there are no farm/chicken vets anywhere near me, only regular small animal/avian vets. I paid over $300.00 last time to an avian vet who didn't know what was wrong (just experimented w/ wormers+antibiotics) and said that typically chicken flock owners will choose to have one bird killed and necropsied to save the rest of the flock (not an option).

I am sooo freaking out right now because as I was checking her I saw her comb is getting pale and she appears to be straining...lots of whitish, yellowish nasty poop and...I think her intestine is outside her body!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!! I have NEVER had that happen! I have no clue what to do. I do not want to move her as she seems to be VERY uncomfortable

( What I see is a large pinkish ball of tissue (almost like a loop of intestine or maybe a part of her reproductive tract??? Its like a balloon sized like a golf ball. Poor little thing!

Throwing drugs willy nilly style to a undiagnosed chicken is what causes super bugs. Please take your bird to a veterinarian for diagnosis and proper meds.

I would not suggest keeping a bird with Fowl Typhoid or with salmonella.

I know (in your previous post) you said you don't really have the money to go back to the vet again. Maybe try First State Vet Supply? You can do a consult for $20, I don't think he's a vet, but he sure knows a lot about chickens.

Personally, I wouldn't use the antibiotics you have lying around.

Sorry to hear about your sick chicken. I have had a bird die from lymphoid leukosis. Vet told me there is not treatment, if they show symptoms they likely have cancer and are not going to make it. I hope it is something treatable, and that it doesn't come to this, but if your bird doesn't make it I highly suggest sending to the state vet for necropsy, it is usually affordable sometimes free, worth every penny to know if your flock might be affected and how to manage it.
