Hi!! I’m brand new here and haven’t even had a second to introduce myself. I was about to call this hatch finished when I went to open the incubator and noticed one trying to break free of his shell!! It’s day 21 and the breed is corturnix. This little one looked stuck to his shell and so when he finally got free he was nearly naked and now shivering. I have left him in the incubator knowing he needs to fluff up and stay warm. It also looks as though he has pooped while in the egg. Should I be rushing to get him nutrients or water being that he’s late and who knows how long he has been trying to get out or just leave him be for now??? Thanks in advance for all of your advice!!

Ok, so he doesn’t look nearly as naked as I thought lol after looking at my pics but definitely more then I was used to with my other chicks. Here are the best pics I could get for you. His hatch mates hatched on day 18. Seriously awful photo... I will try with a different phone

If he just hatched he dies not need food and water just yet. He is fine for a few hours in there. Wait til he fluffs up and finds his feet before you move him to the brooder.
Thank you so much! That’s what I thought too because that’s what I would do with all of my other chicks I was just concerned because he was stuck for so long that he had surpassed that 24 hour mark.

Also, do you think he would be ok with his 3 day older hatch mates or should I keep him separated in the brooder??
