Urgent- paralysed chicken

It could be a head injury, heat stroke (depending where you live), EEE (if you have mosquitos) , or botulism. It's so hard to tell with chickens-many of the symptoms are related to alot of their diseases.
 
Botulism STARTS with the legs, then progresses to the rest of the body. By the time it reaches the brain, there is really little that can be done. Since you found the bird lying down in the yard, my best guess is that there is something in the yard that caused it. Immediately start her on either a molassas or epsom salts flush (google to find the recipe). She needs a lot of fluids to flush out the toxins.

A few years ago I had a couple of wild mallards (mama and a baby) get botulism in my yard.
 
I actually have a hen that recovered from paralysis just this month after giving the molasses flush. I highly recommend it. I had to give it to her with a dropper for a few days but slowly she came back. Now she's with the others and no one would be the wiser.
