Ok so up till today my bobwhites have been fine around each other I have 4 males and 11 females, but today theyre going crazy, the females are crowing loud and one of the males is pecking at the other three males and hes chasing them and all. what might've caused this kind of behavior? What can I do?

There 7 months old and there in a 4x4 pen with a 2x2 coop. up till a few hours ago they were getting along just fine! the females are even laying now!

So should I remove him and put him on another pen?

Well, I don't feel I'm authorized to give you any suggestions on this, but there are some experts on here that will chime in later I'm sure. In my case, I think I'm gonna put my singled-out male in the freezer tomorrow. They're runnin' the poor dude ragged. (See my thread I posted today).........I got long winded but, dedgum........I've got 9 & 11 year old sons that can't stand the sight of each other.......I can control that problem, but these little feather-covered terriorist

Lmao. Yeah they are little terrorist. I don't have the heart to kill one of my quails so I'm probably just gonna build a small pen for him and his lady!

I separate my males and females into breeding groups. I only leave them in a large pen to grow out.

If you can put them in pens of trios or quads where they can't see each other. Even if you remove the one male that is causing problems, someone else may decide that he is top roo and start doing the same thing.

Spring is in the air!!
