Urgent question about red sack protuding from chick abdomen

It's not even really a brooder, just a strong lamp and a thermometer. Silly me, I thought the hen would do all the work and didn't prepare for a problem. I have a lot to learn.

Thanks again.

Usually they do.

But that's all a brooder really is anyway... a box with a heat lamp.

Good luck... prayers headed your way.

I don't think she's doing well. She seems weaker, although she's still trying to move around but feebly. The yolk sack seems drier but also redder. I've tried giving her water by dipping her beak in a small spoonful but she doesn't seem interested.

I'm glad you're still awake! I appreciate the company.

I put in a request for advice from someone that has hatched a LOT of chickies... hopefully he's still online...

I am really sorry she seems weaker. Not really sure if I would offer her anything to drink right now, however, if you do, perhaps some water with gatoraide or sugar? If she is still alive and it is drying up I think there is still a small chance she could make it.

Update: she moved around and I saw something pale pink and wormlike also emerging from her abdomen in the same place. Is that her intestines? I think I saw something on this site about trying to push them back inside her navel with a cue-tip. Is that a good idea or will I just make it worse?
