1st chick hatched but had a question. Chick hatched about 10 minutes ago and I noticed that the built in thermometer was hanging low. I’m not sure if it’s a problem but the chick keeps flopping into it and around it. Other eggs have pipped so I haven’t opened because of shrink wrapping them. Is it ok or do I need to open the Bator? Thank you all.

I don’t think it would be a problem. If you’re concerned you could lower the set temp a little?

The temp is good it’s the thermometer thing that is hanging down near them I just don’t know if it’s hot or if they can get scratched by the plastic. You can see it in the picture faintly

Thermometer should be no warmer than incubator temperature: therefore, not a problem.
