Are you talking about Terimycin? If so, that is an antibiotic, not for blackhead. For blackhead, you need a med called metronidazole, the active ingredient in a fish med called 'fishzole' which I have heard you can no longer get at pet shops, just from a vet.

I have heard of some folks saying to get it at a pet store, that stuff is called 'fishzole', I don't know if they still carry it. I heard somewhere that it isn't carried anymore because when folks dump fish tank water, the stuff ends up in drinking water. I don't know if that's the case everywhere or just in some locations? If the pet stores don't carry it, ask the vet for it. If your vet is like the vets around here, they'll give you anything for turkeys just because they really don't want you to bring the turkey to them.

For the Fish-zole, check with Jeffers Pet & Livestock Supply and/or Dr Foster & Smith. Google both for those addys!! I seem to remember there were a couple others who had it, but Jeffers always seems to have the best shipping available. I looked everywhere locally with no luck. Btw, our "local" is about 3 counties

Hes still alive but not getting better. Im going to try to find the fish zole.

If you can't find fish zole, metronidazol is also flaggyl. (human and animal Rx) maybe you could get it from the vet. Does anyone know the dose?

I know with the fishzole, the 250 mg which is the other med too, it is 2 pills per turkey for 5 days.
