...are laying on the coop floor.
My 4 girls have been laying for several weeks now. They have a clean dry nest box in which there are two golf balls. They had been using the box regularly to lay their eggs...until a few days ago. Nothing has changed, but now they are laying eggs in the middle of the coop floor, usually at a spot that is the most difficult for me to reach (small coop). They also pushed one of the golf balls out over the lip of the nest box, half-way across the coop, out the door and down the ramp. Chicken putt-putt golf? I'm concerned that they will do the same with the eggs!
What do you think is up with them? Is there any way to encourage them to go back to laying in the box?
