I am looking for some useful/fun things to teach my border collie mix. She is really smart and learns tricks really fast.

She already knows the following tricks:
Sit
Lay Down
Crawl
Paw
High Five
Stay

I have also taught her a fun game when I hide her toy and tell her to "go find" and she brings it back to me.

Does anyone have any idea's as for what I can teach her? Stuff that may be helpful around the house. Like turning off the lights ect.

Thank You in advance.

Well if you teach her to open the fridge and get you a drink, don't forget to teach her to close it!

im teaching my dog to turn the lights on and off as well as bringing me my shoes and pens from the pen holder i once ahd a dog who would take guests jackets or sweaters and put them in a chair people loved it.
its very easy to teach turning on lights and opening doors if you use marker training marker training is basically teaching your dog with a marker what to do sticky notes make the best markers becuase your dog can recognize them and they can go anywhere take a sticky note and put it next to the light switch only low enough so its easy for the dog to touch with its paw or nose take some treats and lead there nose to the sticky note when they touch reward you can also put the sticky note on the floor and lead there paw to touch it once the dog has the hang of touching the sticky note move it a little higher and a little higher untill its right newt to the light switch once the dog starts touching the light switch remove the sticky note and keep rewarding for touching the light switch you can teach many things useing hte marker technique

I taught my dogs to search my house. I can send them in and they do a room by room search. Pretty useful trick when you live next door to a mentally ill scary guy. I never worry theres someone in the house that isnt supposed to be. I know that sounds paranoid but you would have to know the full story to understand.

You can teach him the names of various toys/objects, then hide them all around and have the dog find the specific one you ask for. They say BCs can learn up to 1,000 words!

I like "bring" or "take"... teach them to bring something for you, or to take something to someone else. I used to give my dog something and tell him to take it to daddy and he'd take it to him (usually a cold beer or something). Teach him to bring you his leash etc.

Find it, is a good one, but you can modify it too, my boy would pick something up for me if I dropped it while on a walk. We'd practice with my wallet, cellphone and keys.

He knew a bunch of other stuff, but that was mostly protection based.
