User list-easier way?

I've found you cant directly find a person unless you know there exact username, or if you have to look threw all 600-700 pages to find them! couldnt we have a search thing where you can find them by first letter? or type there name and whatevers close to it will come up? that would help me up so much seeing as some people have there usernames spelt funny and I can never find them unless you search threw posts to find them.

Do you have an example? It is actually very easy to find them if you use the wildcard *

For example, search the userlist for *acres*

First letter(s) is super easy: try a search for Fea*
