Username Inspiration

Over 20 years ago, I had a group of close girl friends and the guys called us "the hens" because we were always clucking. We embraced it and in the wake of the Spice Girls, we of course had to have Hen names. I was Snooty Hen. I used it for an email account before the time of using your real name became common. I still use that account when I register for things because it keeps the spam out of my "real" account. So I tend to use it as a username still. Works out well that it's for this site in particular!

I recall wanting to incorporate the name or breed of one of my hens into my username, and I chose Orloff because it sounds the best of all the breeds and is short. I don't exactly remember how I chose to add the '-er' to the end and make myself an orloffer, but I did, and I like it very much. Then I had the dilemma of whether or not to capitalize the first letter. I wrote it out both ways several times and thought about which would be more memorable. I even scanned through BYC looking at different users' names to see what I liked best. I finally looked at @sourland's name and went with lowercase 'o' so the name would look more balanced. It is also from sourland that I got the idea to go with a white background for my profile picture. I believe it looks cleaner and makes more of a statement.
