It's easy to link to the member page with any "name" you want just by using the insert liink method.

OK, the only sure-fire way is the one I was using. Trying to manipulate the native bbcode might work with the right syntax, but I can't figure out how to trigger a tag without having both the @username and the user id in the tag. If you change either it doesn't work.

I see any tags in the forums I watch. I just don't get alerted about them. Tags in forums I don't watch, I may never see or may stumble on them years later when looking for something else.

Since this is the username troubles thread, I have something to confess. I always read @Antiocheggers name as Antio Cheggers. I know it’s Antioch Eggers, but somehow my brain doesn’t get it.
