i did do some more searching and did find some posts of people using it here with no problems. its says on the bag to use with feed for all and any type of animal. the calcium is less than 2% of ingredients and 98% DE. farmers around here use it in large feed chutes to prevent caking, just like in pancake mix or dried spices/herbs. from what i found it is livestock quality not food quality. food grade=100% DE
and livestock quality 98% DE. i was worried about the calcium if it would be bad for developing chicks, so i am not putting it in food, just a tiny bit in dust bath and maybe later in bedding.
