Using a banty hen to brood quail eggs?

I couldn't find anything about this using the search feature, so I figured that I'd better just ask outright. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction? We got our first quail egg from the covey in the chicken tractor yesterday and I'm not sure what to do with it. It might not even be fertile, since there are 7 females and only 1 male. Of course the pair I seperated for breeding haven't shown any signs of interest in egg production yet. Our banty has been laying an egg every other day or so, and I've been taking them, so I don't know if she'd even give a thought to brooding quail eggs now. Any ideas? Thanks so much for any help offered!

Along the same lines....Can a standard chicken hatch quail eggs. I've got a broody hen and rather than go through all the trouble of breaking her I was just going to get some quail eggs from a local source.

the banty in question does not sound like she is broody..

the full sized chicken can hatch quail eggs.. I did it once just for kicks..

just be ready at hatching time or the quail will run off and hide and die.. they will not stay with the chicken "mother"...

let us know how you do..

2 more quail eggs found today - still no broodiness in the banty. Maybe I should stop taking her eggs? (I hate to waste them, since I know they're not fertile) Will she decide on her own exactly when she wants to set? Thanks!
