Using a fast framer? What about roof? Need advice **UPDATE post #10**

What are the measurements on the barn tin? It is not hard to put shingles up and surely if you are going to tackle the fast frame kit you can tackle the shingles. If you are going to use the tin I would suggest just making a square building with a sloped roof. It should be fairly easy to do. If you make the front about 6" higher then you put some rafters on an angle from front to back you could lay the tin on top of the rafters. There should be plenty of examples here on BYC. Good Luck!

Might be nice to have two coops in case you want to separate breeds and do some breeding... OR to have a place to isolate chickens.

Maybe you could build your new coop and run a little wider than your old coop and run, and then just tear down old coop and run from inside new ! That way the chickens would be able to use old until new is built, and new as old gets tore down with out ever being exposed to the outside world .

I do not know what you meant when you mentioned barn tin..?

Are we talking about steel siding/roofing?? about 37 inches wide with raised rib about every 9 inches?? I redid my barn, house chicken coop and three large lean-tos with that stuff.. my only regret was that I did not do it origionally 35 years ago..

If you have a lot of snow, pitch the roof 5" for every foot of run..snow will slide right off..

I was a building contractor for 35 years..
