Using a Light to keep production up? Pros/Cons

After mine finish molting I start turning on the solar bulb. I don't like feeding without eggs being produced.

How do you control the duration?

I go to bed late and walk out to turn it on, sometimes I forget lol. My husband leaves for work at 3 am and he turns it off. I haven't figured out a way to hook it up on a timer yet.
