Using Brinsea for 1st time on Saturday

I've decided to trust the factory installed thermo. It's the humidity that is puzzling me now. When I do get the humidity to rise, should that effect the thermo's ability to get back to temp?

Those that didn't make the cut (I can see why people end up with more than one incubator, such tough choices!)...

The eggs I set...

Wow.. Sorry that you had to do that.
On the other hand, I hope you enjoy your hatch. Many Brinsea fanatics like myself totally dig pics like that.
Thanks for sharing!

Oh I am SO excited about this new phase of chicken obsession, er, education I mean.

Good luck on the set

I too am getting ready to set eggs. Mine were shipped. Lots of confusion on that ... The post office deivered to the wrong box and we went round and round but they found it today when the other person turned the box in. Now I have them all unwrapped. No cracks and sitting on the table for a little bit. My tread is here somewhere about setting shipped eggs

I'll keep checking back. I hatched my own chickens eggs last summer and it went well. Just let it turn and jot down your numbers at least twice a day. I found that keeping notes helped me to keep an average on the temp and humidity. I have a reader that shows both that I picked up at Walmart.

Loooong night. I had the incubator on for two continuous days last week and also all day yesterday (before setting the eggs). The temp remained just below 100. When I checked it last night after about 2 hrs, it was just a hair over 100. Over the next few hours I slowly adjusted the temp dial and opened the lid each time (both to make sure the thermometer registered the drop in temp, which it did, and also to let a small amount of heat out). Admittedly, I fell asleep around 4 AM. The temp was still hovering right at 100 at 8 AM. The next adjustment brought it within the normal range. What do you think? I sure hope I've not lost 25 eggs due to the higher temp. I don't know what caused it to go higher with the eggs in it. I did my best to make sure it was all set before I added the eggs.
