using heating cable in incubator

I would be interested in seeing the plans for the christmas light bator. this seems so much more practical, and doable! thanks for the great idea! we may try and make our own bator with that idea

I do not have plans, I used old wooden nightstand, took the door off and wired it.

You'll get an idea when I post the pictures.

we really appreciate it. I love to do my best to make things that I need from things that I already have (that I probably don't even use) and repurpose them. again, thanks.

Hey everyone.

Inspired by some of the homemade incubators I've seen here, I wanted to try to make my own, but instead of using a light, I was wondering if I could use heating cable.

I'm thinking it would be even more accurate because then I could line the entire incubator with it instead of just one corner.

I just wanted some feedback on the idea. And if it does sound okay, does anyone know how I would hook it up to the thermostat? Or is it just the same as a lightbulb?

Thanks.

Did this work? I’m doing this now with a home made still air bator. I have multiple thermometers stating it’s 102-100 in the box and rotate the quail eggs every 3-4 hours around inside when I turn. Only on day 2. I chose x-mid lights because a 49 w bulb made my box 250degrees
