Using my Tea tree shampoo, on birds with lice

Sevin dust is what you need for lice. It'll kill them immediately. I've been using it for years...still here typing.

Yes, Sevin is toxic, but they are unlikely to get enough in them to hurt them. And as has been said, Tea Tree oil is very toxic to birds.

they have no lice since Ive been letting them have baths in my wood ashes. So how does the lice kill the birds?

woodash is fine for lice but not mites right?

I don't believe that wood ash will kill mites or lice. Unfortunately, it will take the insecticide to kill them.

I use tea tree oil shampoo on chickens and chicks. I very carefully wash them, making sure they don't ingest any. The shampoo kills the mites instantly, along with any eggs. I've not lost a chick or chicken doing this. Tea tree oil shampoo works better that dog flea and tick wash and Dawn dish soap. After the dry in front of a heater, I follow up with Pernethrin spray. I also spray bedding areas. It's the best method I've discovered yet. I have been raising chickens my whole life.
