Hi folks,
I am in the process of getting ready for chickens. We have a large barn on our property that I would like to use part of for the chickens. On one end is a large "stall" where it has 3 sides and 1 side open. Next to that is a completely enclosed room - I'm guessing about 8x8ft, with a door and lighting. I know that will work well as the coop. What I am wondering is if I can just close up the opening on the end of the barn and make that the chicken run. I plan on letting them free range in the yard as well. (we have an acre w/about 2/3 of it fenced in) I just can't find anything searching the internet on if it is acceptable to have a run closed on 3 sides. Thanks in advance for your help!
Pics of barn: (hopefully I do this right!)
This is from last summer when we bought the place. You can see the barn in the background.
The window looks into the room I would like to make into the coop.
