Some of my girls have been coming down with a nasty "cold" sneezing wheezing ,gurgling, snotty nose......so I have decided to put the ones that are showing the signs in our two stall horse trailer and medicate them and then I will medicate the rest of the flock also...The trailer needs to be painted inside again ...its an oldie....so when everything is back to normal ...I will bleach and power wash the inside of the trailer....Just hoping

I dont need the trailer in the middle of the night....friends of ours have a bigger one for traveling ....Has anyone done this?....I dont have the room right now anywhere else ....

Thanks !! We just finished transferring them into their new digs....as quiet and calm as possible....I hope there all going to be okay...I start the treatment in the morning...with their first drink of water...

The guy that I got my first four chickens from, had some of his chickens in a one stall horse trailer. It seemed to work just fine. My girls were healthy. He even had a light in there for them.

P.S. Hope your chickens get better soon!

I have used my horse trailer as a temporary house (in cooler weather) for many things--chickens, dogs, calves, cats........When done I just take to the car wash, power wash out, take home and spray with disinfectant (using one of those lawn fertilizer applicators that hooks up to your hose) and then rinse! Then it's clean for the next thing I might accidently bring home from work
