Using tires in construction?

Hey everyone! First post here but definitely not my last. I am just getting into chicken raising after a hiatus from my FFA days and my coop is in the works!

Now, I have been on a bit of a "resource reclaimation" kick and I have come across people using tires for various projects, like buckets, baskets, sandals and even houses, which got me to thinking... is there any reason I can't use tires in my coop? I was thinking of cut up tread as floor covering instead of vinyl or linoleum or even making an entire coop from them.

I haven't seen anything on this on any sites so I thought I would ask here. Any reasons why it can't or shouldn't be done?

First thing that comes to mind is using them like bricks. Stack them and fill the middles with dirt. Overlap each row and you will have a well insulated coop.

Oh, I know about all that stuff. I was more curious about chicken specific applications, e.g. is it a good idea or not.
