using wing bands

Hope this is the right place for this question? I am going to use wing bands to mark some of my fowl (some JG and Shamo) and was wondering if there is any thing I should do before putting on the clip? I mean like trim or pull feathers in the area, use alcohol ?

Beyond making certain bands are clean, no preping involved.​

Does JG refer to jungle fowl or Jamaican game.

no JG is for my Jersey Giants, do have some spanish games, it is still a work in progress but well on it's way. I just was not sure with Jerseys and Shamos being so lg if there was any thing I should know?

Can one wing band adult chickens as well as chicks?
