using wool/fleece or other fabric as nesting material? can it be done~?

This is great to know! I use Home Chef deliveries for my meals and they come with really nice cotton batting for the insulation. I hate throwing it away, but couldn't think of what to do with it! Now once I build my coop, I'll have nesting material!

I have alpaca wool fleece scraps not fit to spin, do you think that would work to keep a duckling warm at night? Would I need to put it in a bag or just put handfuls of the fleece in the cage with him. He's inside the house as our nights are starting to get cold.

I am going to put some alpaca and sheep fleece, that's been picked clean, in their nesting boxes today. I really like the felted wool idea but just recently recycled all my wool/cashmere sweaters. I used to make cloth diaper covers with them. I may have to head to the salvation army for a couple now.
