Utah!

Yay! My Polish girl finally laid an egg. It is big too?! I am thinking no wonder it took her a while to have the nerve to do it lol. She is a pretty modestly sized girl.

It is pretty white, maybe a tiny bit off-white. Good girl. :p

That is the one! At first I looked under her, and saw that egg, and said "Whose egg you sitting on girl!" Then I looked at my other layers to be---there are no girls that would lay that color, unless the Delaware laid super light and it was her....I asked my DH if he saw anybody in that nest earlier when he went out to get eggs and said she was sitting in that same spot, no egg under her...so she must be the culprit. Quite surprised it is that big though, maybe it has two yolks. I have to let my son open and look after school, she is his and he will be excited :) I have this blue girl, and my "Elvis" polish due... a wheaten am. overdue....my black am. (that came with yours Red from Cynthia) due...and FBCM and a Delaware and my showgirl coming up. The showgirl has not sat at all though, I think she has a little while left. My last blue wheaten and mixed Marans whould be a month or so at least still...then a couple babies. So far 15 laying, just over half.

Everyone who is new!!

I have some chickie pictures for you. :) I swear, I went to bed last night with a bunch of chicks and this morning they're like...real chickens!

Here are the ladies, having just kicked shavings into their water and food. I swear, I spend half the day refilling their water bottle and cleaning out their food! They also sometimes chase each other around playing keep-away with shavings. :D

Here's Amy, I had to share a picture of her because she's just changed so much over the last couple of days! She has much more light on her now.

And here she is giving me a "really??" look as I took her picture.

Aravis, those babies are getting big, and cuter by the day! Thanks for sharing!
A tip for you....you can put a paver or brick, block of wood under the waterer/feeder as they get taller, it keeps them from spilling so much feed and keeps the shavings from getting in there as bad....I use a 2 inch high paver at that age, then stack it double as they get tall enough. Then when they are in the big run, their waterer is sitting on a cinderblock, and their round feeder sits on a tire.

Welcome everyone new. So fun to hear everyones story. I have recovered from the cat show. Pretty much slept all day yesterday. I'll post some pictures later. Did anyone make it to the poultry show?

Hey everyone!! Its a happen' place on here lol.

Lisa, my silver laced has little red waddles and a little hidden comb in the tuft of feathers. Im going to say its a boy. My buff looks the same as,the pics with a little red. I might have two boys.

Its time to winterize my coop...

So funny. 2 weeks ago I would have been sure the SIlvers were both girls. I jinxed 'em, they went fast and furious to rooster-dom! Dang Polish. Impossible chicks to sex. I only got one girl for sure in this batch, 2 MAYBE. I swear Polish are born 90 percent male. I have had this batch, then two batches before, nearly all boys......17 birds, 2 girls. I think 2 I sold turned into girls...all the rest boys.
