Utah!

see the price for human grade grains is so much higher and since it is for animals you can use feed grade. ifa is the best place for grains i have found. i get wheat, milo, boss, oats and whatever else i decide to get and make my own scratch. i only buy whole grains and i have also planted some around the yard. i love the look of milo and oats and my animals love it too. boss is also fun to grow. ifa has tons of grains and for a good price

Do they have a store close to Idaho? I'd make a small road trip if the price and selection made it worth the trip. Or........maybe a trade next spring.....pullets for grain? LOL

Sundance, the feathers on your new chicken look mighty rooster-ish. And he is gorgeous!

I wonder if he could have gotten away from someone else? I know one of your neighbors has chickens, I remember hearing them when I was over. It does make you wonder how he'd have gotten over those tall fences, though. Have you seen how high he can fly, yet?

And I agree, the other two do look like boys. Love that black one! If I didn't already have six boys on my hands, I'd take him.

Birdman, I'm totally going to have to check out the grains at IFA now. Ever since I saw the oat grass in your yard, I've been itching to plant something like that in my yard.

I asked my neighbors if they had lost a chicken they said no. All three of these roosters are so beautiful. I wish I could keep them. As long as they don't crow its not a problem. But when they start to crow they are goners. If anyone wants them let me know

Madchicken! How sad! What is wrong with that poor baby? i am so so sorry!

Sundance, those boys are all so pretty. Wish I could have roosters, I would take that pretty olive egger. Maybe if yours crows in the morning then the owner will hear him and come looking!

he is gone. Anyone have a young sSilkie rooster they dont need? All our roosters belong to my son and he is very sad. We are very sad. I will travel to find a replacement.

So sorry madchicken!! What happened to him?

Sundance, I have to laugh that you got roostered... looks like a barnyard Marans mix...

Red, I know how you feel about the delayed egg-laying.. my marans BSL is still holding out on me, and her 'sister' the blue orp has been laying for about 6 weeks, plus the OE from Michelle, Lisa's been getting eggs from hers, and my Delawares apparently are slacking now, to, as Lisa's also started laying... Of course, the OE and BSL were moved to my Mom's and they still might be spooked about that, but STILL!! and it's not like I don't feed them or give them water or something like that, lol! On the other hand, the BA has been laying like mad since she started a few weeks ago, averaging 6 eggs a week and slowly getting bigger since she started almost 3 weeks ago.. speaking of, the bantam cochin pullets are also due then, they're the same age as the BA... better start earning your keep girls!

I don't know hat was wrong. A neighbor has two young cats that are becoming mature and i have had a falcon watching my flock, but he has no puncture wounds. if he was poisoned wouldn't the other chickens be sick?
