Utah!

Okay, I have to ask - How did the nickname Monster come about?

Separate note - I was talking to my BF yesterday about the incubator I'm using. I told him how I had to fight with it to get it up to the right temperature, then down, then up. After he found out what kind it was (cheapy one from IFA) he is now firmly of the mindset that we are going to get a better incubator for me. I told him no, I don't want one, because then I'd be tempted to hatch a lot. That's why I got the cheap one - plus I'm not made of money, dang! But he insists that no, we are going to get a nice one. He was all ready to take back the one I'm using, until I told him I already had the eggs in it. He is so sweet.

Sundance, I know it's probably not funny to you, but the image of Wallace "happily crowing" on the ranch just made me laugh. That's awesome that you're getting a Frizzle roo! Just what we all need - more chickens with which to tempt us

Looks like someone else decided to join the club today! One of the small ones is the one I got yesterday, the other two are from today.

I am so jealous of all the goats! I would love to get one but my husband is just not into the idea. I've been getting into cheesemaking lately and want the raw milk!

Ooooh! Ara, I wonder if your SFH that's been squatting has started to lay?

Phoenix - Okay, I just wondered

I just candled five of the eight eggs under my broody. All were clear, and one was cracked so I took it. It's day six today. Should I toss the eggs if they're all still clear?

It is great that your birds are doing well and we really enjoy your pictures and info. Also, thanks for your replies.

I noticed today that our bird with the issues is now pulling out her own feathers around her neck and the feathers look really wet. Any ideas on what would cause this? Is it time to just cull this EE?

Yes we get a laugh out of Wallace. He has become so social that he likes to hang out on the porch and wait for my friend to come out so he can follow her around The frizzle roo is one that I hatched. When he started crowing I sent him to orem so he is the clinic chicken at my friends vet clinic.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts. Only problem with the new boobs is that they will be on an old body! But I'll deal with that. Maggie and Wanda appear to be happy but somewhat scared that they are all alone after being the big chicks in IFA. lol. Loved the rain today but really need to see some more warm days!
