Pasty face. I get chicks with that around their eyes especially. When they hatch if I have time I will run warm water over them and rub them a bit that helps, they are wet already and they dry out fine under the heat lamp. If I do not have time to give them a dip, or if they are just fragile and I do not dare rinse them, then as they fluff out I will use a child size soft toothbrush and just gently rub around the stiff areas it helps make them 'purdy :)

Ya but its pasty body. I think sundace said they hatched last night and one this morning. They are starting to fluff out on their belly's. Maybe i will just watch them for a while. i will get a picture when i find a camera.

If they are real crispy, get a wet cloth and wash them, with the cloth real wet. Over the sink. Just get them nice and wet, then make sure you dry them off real well. Put them under that heat lamp when you are done of course. I usually use my fingers when it isn't too bad. I just fluff it up around their eyes, and the back can be stuck down..I just fluff it backwards gently. White stuff flies all over. :)

Eggs in incubator. Hoping nothing goes wrong... Betting that it does. Compared to a few years ago, I've had too much good luck with my birds. Expecting the worst...

Feel like sharing my experience with my Brahmas today, but I won't, don't think anyone would understand.

Decided I want to order some Cornish, Polish, and Favorelles next year... If I can find someone to order with...

Also, forget the EE crosses. That lovely roo went bye bye. Couldn't find him today. Bleh.

Sorry for my mood, had a bit of a bad night.

I have some faverolle eggs coming...they are coming with the Houdan eggs. Whenever that is.

Right now, large Buff Brahmas. I do plan to hatch some Brahma/Sizzle crosses this year too. I would raise some Brahma babies if I wasn't too attached to the parents. XD Not expecting the babies to sell too well, but the good thing about Brahmas, pretty easy to sex in my experience. Boys grow super slow. And the Sizzle crosses will be sex linked. My Brahmas aren't full size, maybe half.
