Utah!

My husband said that he totally wished he saw this video before saying yes to us having ONLY 4 chickens, well right now I'm planning on keeping 10-12. Hilarious! But I can totally relate to most of this ladies Chicken Rant. Yes, I do have photos on my cell phone, most are named, and I totally got way over what I said I was going to start with. I have to admit I do now drink my morning coffee out on the back porch just to watch my Chicken TV. hahaha!

i guess i have a coop full of lesbians? :gig my head hen is a bsl and she is a big girl at 11 lbs or so so seeing her get on a leghorn can be interesting

I totally get this, I have a GSL that mounts my black crested white Polish. She grabs her by the cheek, same as the roosters, holds her down by her cheek/neck gets right on her back and it looks just like mating. So weird. At first I thought she was being mean, but she does not pull feathers or bite her, or otherwise hurt her that I can tell....so I just ignore it but it made me super mad at first.

Maybe chickens are like dogs. Showing that they are the dominant one. ??

so you all know how a hen will mount another hen and act like a rooster? well some of my girls are getting a little carried away playing rooster and well i never thought i may have to consider saddles for a all girl flock :th now i will knock the girl off if i see it because in my flock one of the ways i manage it is they see me as the rooster and a rooster will not let a rooster mate his hens. some of the hens doing it are not so nice about it. its kinda funny to see it and it sure shocks people when they see it.
wow I didn't know they did that lol that's kind of funny.

Hey guys who was looking to rehome roasters? My brother would like some :) his boss ha a bunch of hens he wants roos for. He would like up to 10.

I have five boys that I am willing to give away. I think I am going to keep one of them, but can definitely be persuaded to part with them all. the wheaten ameraucana boys are sweet so far, i am tempted to keep one of the two. I am waiting on a drill plucker and kill cone to process them. I have ten birchen marans boys. I have spent too much to give them away. I will sell them or eat them. I have a bresse boy too. He will be dinner as he has a major fault (feathered shanks), that I won't breed forward. Means I need a boy, if you can believe that!
