I can't believe it..I'm going to order them..they are just too darn cute. I am putting my Favorelle Bantam up for sale. I have a cochin that is close to start laying soon... Anyway, She is the only bantam I've had in there that really wants out. I feel sorry for her. She walks the line like she's been out before, but she hasn't. I tried it one day, but my RIR's are way too bossy for her. She squats even if you talk to her..seriously. Anyone have a nice sized place for a bantam to free range? She is a love. She lays every day, misses only once or twice maybe, a week! I know she will go broody again, but she sure does lay well inbetween!

oh man she's pretty. I would love to have a girl like that!

I like chatty hens, though. I hope she finds a good home!

Desert, congrats on getting your hatchery license! That makes me even happier that you have your own Icelandics now, yay!

I'm not sure either how someone could lose their toddler for that long. The only kids I have right now go "bok bok", but I think I'd be a nervous wreck if I couldn't find my child. Funny side note, though - my ex boyfriend and his brothers got the little toddler harness/leash thing when they were kids. I guess that's one way to keep an eye on them

So I have a total of one baby that's hatched from my Icelandic eggs, and I'm so tickled to have a new Icee! And, the lady that I bought the eggs from (same one I've gotten eggs from before) is sending me replacements for the ones that disappeared! I can't believe what a sweetheart she is! I told her she doesn't owe me anything. Can you believe that? I would really like to do something nice for her to thank her, but I don't know what I can do, yet.

And, the Silkie chicks I'm babysitting are going home. I had another one disappear yesterday morning, and I know that the only way it could have gotten out of the cage was if someone took it out. So, my hens and their babies are now under lock and key, and I am returning the Silkies. I don't want to be blamed for them disappearing.

I've been watching them for the last hour. I'm pretty 100% that the NN and the Sex Link are at home here, they are already named. The leghorns have to go. Any takers on a Leghorn?


Here is Olivia, I can't believe how cute NN are when they are little, my Ollie I got at like 3 months old, so I didn't see her this little. So fun.

my broody is cool to the touch? still really pale, i lifted her off the nest to check for mites and didn't see any... I don't think she's eating...i have been watering her with a dropper every few hours now but she won't stand up and when i put her on her feet after checking for mites she was really wobly and sat where she was...she has only one chick left that has peeped but not hatched and i put a 50 what light on them at a little distance... now she has her head tucked under her wing...what can i try to get her to eat? am i doing the right things?

I have THREE broodies right now. I need more chicks like I need a hole in the head, so I'm collecting eggs a million times a day. Lucky for me, two of them are too dumb/aggressive for anyone to lay eggs by them, so neither of them have ever been caught with eggs under them. My penciled hamburg nearly always has an egg under her though.

I'm getting 9-10 eggs a day now. Crazy! Two of my OE are laying, and the eggs are so gorgeous. I think the hens I made are beautiful too. They look like a FBCM with a bad toupee. LOL
