Utah!

Puppies, we have puppies! She did this fast! She had 7, but one was still born. Dad is a purebred Standard Poodle, and our girl is a Purebred Golden Retriever. Yes, she has white on her, but it happens once in a while, and we didn't mind, so took her. She's a love. Goldendoodles, only we didn't get any golden colors. We got blacks, and a chocolate brown, and a real pretty light silvery brown.

She's tired, I'm tired. :p
Have to add though, sure glad she didn't do this in the middle of the night. I knew she was in early stages earlier today, but she started around 5:30, had them by 8:45. Good girl. :) Now, if she doesn't surprise us and have one during the night.
Oh, so cute!!! Congrats!

Also, does anyone on here have bantam hatching eggs? In the last huge windstorm our coop tipped over and smashed out only and favorite bantam flat! It was very sad. Especially because it was our landlords only chicken that she kept from a previous flock. :( I would love to hatch a few new bantams for her to have out in her yard for spring. :)

I'm getting a small number of mille fleur / calico bantam cochin eggs. I also have one breeding pair available.

Oh, Cynthia, those puppies are adorable!! I'm so sorry for the stillborn one though. :-(

MadChicken, thank you so much for the offer.

I really feel like my chicken's problem is an abcess/puss pocket. Everything I've read says that has to be lanced. I woke up feeling awful today- some kind of chest cold. I don't feel good about driving much beyond getting the kids to/from school, and don't want to expose everyone. So, I'm going to think "get well" thoughts to myself, and go on my field trip to Sundancen's house another time.

Sphinx, I hope you get feeling better soon. I would guess that that lump your hen has in an abscess.

Cynthia, congrats on the puppies! So cute. Good girl, Missy!

Madchicken, cute chicks. And your RIR is gorgeous, as always.

Ace, sorry about your landlord's chicken

I think I missed someone. Sorry.

Well, three days until the BF's final trial is here. He goes in Thursday morning, and then everything should be done. I hope the judge sees a lot of what his ex has been doing and takes all of her underhandedness into account. Until then, I'm going to be sick with anxiety. I don't like waiting.

My chickens decidedly do not like the snow - most of them, anyway. One of my pullets was shaking her feet off as though to get rid of the "awful cold stuff". I laughed. So, my girls get their heat lamp on all day today. I think the next time I go to get feed, I'll be picking up a big bag of gamebird feed so that I can mix a little of it in with everyone's food. The turkeys get it, anyway, but I'll bet the chickens could use the boost while they adjust to the new temps.

I'm happy to see the snow, though. I've been way too warm the past couple of days.

Cynthia, loving the puppies

I had to show my mom your pictures of them. She loves animals and went, "Awwww!"

Thanks for the sympathetic, or should I say, empathetic posts everyone! I've had rotten luck this year with my flock! But now that I have a Brinsea Mini.... bwahahaha :)

Those puppies are awesome! I've heard of labradoodles... what do they call golden retriverXpoodles? goldendoodles? Maybe I've heard that before. Do they have similar characteristics to labradoodles?

I'm really hoping that I can get a few hatching eggs here in the next two weeks! Hoping for a few bantams, olive eggers, and maybe a few barn yard mixes. :)

PS- Red, your Turkey shinanigan was very entertaining to read about! Glad she is home and recovering!
