Utah!

I could put up chicken wire and have her in the crate coop, but will she be okay there at night? And I think they would just fly over the fence or up in the tree to get with each other. They are all little turds out there. All winter long I've just left them up in the back run area, and now since its gotten warmer the last few days, they are all flying over the 6 foot chain link fence to get into the side yard, because its muddy now, and they are loving it. So I don't know where I would even put her without her getting back with the others.

Okay, before my computer so rudely decided to crash, I was going to say: Karen, my girls have picked up egg eating off of each other. The next time I find someone eating eggs, I'll be trying the mustard method that Tell mentioned.

Well I spent several minutes digging around the bottom of my feed barrel for more seeds to plant. The red wheat I planted last week is already four inches tall and has roots coming out of the bottom of the container. Today I collected some kernels for white wheat, oats, millet, and a couple that look like barley.

And my girls decided to go overboard today with eggs. I've gotten six so far today, and at least two look like they're from new layers.

Ace, the marans one looks kind of boylie (heh heh, love that term of phrase my kids invented). The other one is tougher to tell.

Cynthia, I love that tree. I may have to plant one.

Lisa, you and your luck with cockerels is hilarious.

Red, I am so glad that little cockerel is doing better today. If you ever want me to incubate Icelandics again, I'd be happy to.

Silly, I've not had a lot of experience with an egg eater, but I've heard they're nearly impossible to break. Best of luck. Good luck on your hatch. I hope they do awesome. If you decide you want more hatching eggs, I'd be happy to meet up with you.

Canebeds, I would've done the same thing with those eggs. LOL

Desert, it's good to "see" you.

My eight year old is selling girl scout cookies. If any of you want to order some, they're $3.50/box. We'd deliver/collect money in Mid-March. Available varieties here: http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/cookies/

Silly
Empty the egg and put mustard in it. Then put it in the laying box. It works.
Just an FYI....from experience......some chickens enjoy the taste of mustard. LOL.....I have never had a chicken who liked the taste of liquid dish soap, however, so that's what I use. I hollow out an egg, fill with soap, and then seal it up with wax. You might get one soap egg broken open, but the next one will be left alone and the behavior will stop. It's not a bad idea to keep a soap egg in the boxes just in case you get a hen who thinks it might be a good idea to eat eggs. They change their minds quickly.

Is it that time again?? Wow...I love love that green box right there...the mint cookies!

Thanks everyone thanks for the ideas, I will have to try them out.

Wendy hope your daughter sells a bunch of cookies. My daughter is selling cookies for the first time this year, she's a little Daisy. Or I would buy some from you, but I think I will have to buy a case from her :D

We went sledding today, and my daughter Go Pro'd herself sledding, and I just have to share because its so freakin funny! Yes, she was wearing a skiing helmet.

LOL, love the video, Silly. When we first started selling cookies, I'd order a few extra boxes. At this point though, I order two extra cases of thin mints and one of samoas because it's almost guaranteed I'll sell that many after the fact. Best of luck to your daughter! I hope she does well.

I sell stuff on Amazon and eBay, and of course you can't with cookies, but my husband was like, lets just buy the 2500 boxes of cookies, she can get an iPad, and then in like July sell them for $90 a case. I'm like you have $9K sitting around to buy a bunch of cookies. He's so funny. My daughter has actually done pretty well. She walked my mother inlaws neighborhood yesterday, we really need to go back there, but just in an hour of walking around with Grandma she had 72 boxes ordered. Most people told them that they have never had girl scouts before. So I need to take her back. I haven't tried my neighborhood yet, maybe tomorrow. And we haven't even really called family yet.

Silly, great video! I think my favorite part was, "OWW!" That's exactly what I would have done.

Sphinx, your daughter is cute!

On the egg eating bit, I forgot to mention that if you leave a stinker egg out there and someone samples it, that stops them pretty quickly, too.............lol. Found that one out by accident.
