Utah!

Has it really been three years since the last post?

Nope you need to go to the last page!

Fun picture here. These are the eggs collected from Wednesday Morning until now. So 2 1/2 days. WOW! I think it is time to sell the older flock.... the younger flock is taking over.

I think I'm going to take my white Silkie out of the pen with the frizzle and three chicks. The frizzle seems to be the real mom and the silkie just goes along for the ride. She has also started laying again and it would be a waste not to get more fertilized eggs from her. The last four eggs of hers that hatched i got 3 blues and 1 partridge, big crest and full beards. Would anyone be interested in some of her eggs? I also have a splash hen that i am collecting eggs from. She has a OK crest and a small beard but my rooster is full bearded and big crest so you never know how the chicks will turn out. I have three more eggs to collect for me then i could start collecting for someone else.

I will take some fertile eggs, I still have the sitting partridge Silkie. I figured if she is still sitting when we get back next Friday I would be hunting down eggs. I can pick them up next Saturday. I was just hoping she would give up over the last 2 1/2 weeks. Nope.

my poor chickens are soo hot they are all in the shade panting and no one has laid today. I gave them some watermelon to help cool them down. My poor broody serama is hatching today and is just miserable. I was worried about loosing the babies so I brought her nest and all into the house and put her in a brooder in my back bedroom. She should be more comfortable hatching the rest of her eggs, She has hatched two and has 4 more left to go. Lisa I love your egg picture.

Check this baby face out. Came from a small white egg from sundance. Racoon eyes.

Early bird. A lot more pips. Even on more NN egg. That last non nn..is a frizzle. With the black spots on the head and back.
