Ha! I wondered who's those were! I had to chuckle as I walked around. Most of those LF birds are birds that I hatched. he he..yes, people have bought from me around here too. Those two big Rhodebar Roos...are some that I hatched. I saw a few silkies there..big boys that I hatched. Rhodebar Pullets..Brandi put my girl in..she's keeping her after..but I thought, sure would be nice to get a ribbon of some sort after all of these yrs. of doings chicks and chickens. We'll see..there is another Rhodebar hen in there. If the judges know their stuff, the darker hen is the one that is supposedly better in coloring.. the hen should be darker than the one I put in, but I like the lighter personally.
I was there while they were judging for a while. Didn't see them take one chicken out. hmmmm?? A lot of chickens there this yr..thanks to Brandi! She did a great job advertising. First big show of bunnies and chickens that we've had in yrs. I had to cuss the kids out sitting in their chairs..yep, but no real cuss words..lol..I told them, that there were chickens in there with no water..already. I said, you will really need to keep a constant eye out this yr. This is the most you've had here in a long time. Chickens NEED water, more than food in short term. There was a lot of panting going on, and it was windy and cool. :/
Whose NN? I told DH, my white girl would win over that one, and my Gladys too.![]()
The white girl has grown a lot all of a sudden. One from sundances eggs. Sooo pretty. My Gladys came from shipped eggs. She is about the same color as this NN in the photo, but has a real big bow tie. Has the sweetest eyes. I looked into the eyes of the NN there..she is a sweetheart too, you can just tell.
The judge is a liscensed judge from the American Bantam assn. He also judged the Salt lake county fair. I had to laugh at all the people there. He was trying to judge and there were a bunch of people that kept asking him questions. He was very patient. Where were you sitting? I didn't see you. Carolyn went over this Am and none of the ribbons had been hung. Those big rhodebar roos were very pretty. The turkin was Carolyns as well. We took all her chickens to the fair so she could clean her runs out really good.
