Utah!

Where might one find polish hatching eggs? Anyone know a local breeder?

I don't know anyone around here with any. Sphinx had a GL Polish hen and roo, but I think she had to rehome all of her birds because she just moved into a non-chicken zoned house. You could check with her maybe she still has access?

If you are interested....I am putting my white snowball polish in the pen with the frizzle silkie roo ernie ...to try and get white frizzled crested babies for a guy in Idaho (his idea haha!), so they won't be pure by any means but the snowball has a really large diameter crest so we are just hatching some for fun pets for our own flocks, if you want any :D it will be another month or so. Don't know if it will work, they should feather out smooth or frizzled, not silkied...but not sure if the black skin will make them really weird lol, the black skin usually happens in chicks from my silkie boys.

My snowball, she is hiding but you can see her back behind the silkie pen on the far left.

Brad? Marans? Do they need to be black? I won some beautiful eggs that I will be setting for the Easter Hatch A Long in March. He takes his eggs for shows..wins! They are gorgeous. He says that I could get BBS out of them, but he has been getting a lot of splashes..which is what I want, but, I could get some blacks, and that's while I am counting my chicks before they hatch.

Just put a bid on these Buff Laced Polish Bantams. I'll only keep two or three. If I get them, let me know if you'd be interested in a chick or two! :) and sorry the picture is so big!

Ilvsilkies- I just got rid of my Black Silkie Roo yesterday, he actually was very nice looking and had silver lacing in his neck. Darn I posted him on here a few weeks ago. Someone who breeds Silkies in Alpine took him. She was so excited to get him too.

Need advice: I have a hen who is spending more and more time in the nest. I've only ever hatched under a broody once, and she did an excellent job. That was mid October, and those babies did very well. What are opinions of letting a broody have some eggs this time of year in northern Utah? I don't mind at all breaking her, but with this mild winter, should I be that worried? Meaning, should I be that worried letting her have some eggs.
