Utah!

Welcome, Grandmadee!

Congrats on 1k posts, RJ! And congrats on the chicks that will soon be coming your way! :) Love the pictures of your grandkids with the flock.

I think someone forgot to turn off the switch for winter. It just keeps snowing here......and snowing some more...... Really, I like snow, but I need to till my garden up. I'm thankful for the greenhouse DH set up so I can start some seeds.

And speaking of storms, we got the roof on our little house in Delta patched before the rain hit yesterday. Yay! I think once we have a pasture all fenced in and planted for the horses, I'm going to work on the pens and a coop there so that the chickens can come down with me. It's going to be a regular Ft. Knox kind of deal :/ In addition to all the usual predators, we've discovered that we have an active raven's nest in one of our trees. I don't mind the corvids, but they do tend to be mischievous around other animals.....

Thanks RCStanley & Red, I fear perhaps you have read enough of me? And a welcome to Grandmadee as well. IFA, TSC, and Cal Ranch all have chicks, as well as several of the members here. So your choice should be great. We have snow as well… it will pass. Like the Fort Knox point of view for your new digs. It will be fun to follow your adventures in all of this. And NotAFarm has been very nice to me over in the Icelandic thread. This is all good. AND grandkids and chickens is very good.

Best to all and your birds,

RJ

RJ, I don't think any of us really get enough of each other's chicken antics here ;) I'm not always on the forum, so it's hit and miss when I see posts here.

Here's a view of the pens in the back yard of our new place.

We have plenty to do! I already have nearly a score of young trees in training, mwahaha.

hi all I love seeing pictures of eveyones babies and coops snow is beautiful in the picture but thats the reason I come to Arizona in the winter.. I shipped my horse home this weekend and the trainer tells me its snowing at the barn in Utah. OK putting my return off a couple of weeks take care all and I'll post when I get home

Hello Sundance, Red that place is screaming out for peafowl. YES! you better get some, perhaps a lot… Plus it looks like you have room for most every other animal known to man. The folks over on the Icelandic thread are quite nice, as you so noted, thanks. You saw I am doubling down with chicks as well. Hot times in cold Cache Valley, but, hey I picked the right breed for the conditions, right?

I like posting here, and as I have noted elsewhere BYC is my first love and it is hard to leave her for that newfangled FB stuff. I suppose everything has its place and fills a need. We still have snow today, and I promised Lisa it would be gone by Noon, yesterday.

I am unsure as to how to recover from my error, but will try to make amends as best I can. But it is still March and so one just needs to roll with it… or something like that.

Well, March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb and lambs are white and fluffy, so I guess the weather is appropriate :)
