Utah!

I got my chicks today, so I am official! They are out in my garage, I am using the heating pad method for warmth. We ordered 7, got 11 and all survived the journey and are energetic little things. I have Rhodebars, Cream Legbars, OE, and Orps.

We are only a couple of weeks away from the first annual meet and greet at the Cache County fairgrounds, in Logan. If you are so inclined please come up and visit with us. Please share this with anyone whom may be interested in such.

Best to all and your birds,

RJ

Hello fellow Utahns. I finally finished my coop and am looking to get a few pullets/hens for eggs. Please let me know if you have any or if you know anybody that does. Thanks.
Welcome to BYC! If you are on Facebook there is a group called "Utah/Idaho Chicken Connection" where there are many nice people who post what they have for sale.

I just about had a come-apart. I went out into the yard looking at my chickie & ducks, counting them as I do habitually OCD anyone???) and came up short one duck. I spent the last hour scouring the yard, looking for a place she might have gotten out, a puff of feathers or a hiding duck. They never hide, but maybe she was sick or hurt or lying in a ditch somewhere.......ya know, like you worry about your kids. I got DH out there, he could not find anything. I released the dogs into the yard but they didn't alert to anything. finally found her under a tree in the shadows. Maybe she has gone broody and is hiding her nest. I don't know if I should check under her, or move her nest to the pen for protection. If she has gone broody, can I maybe slip some more eggs under her? she is pretty protected under the saplings, but I worry.

Is it a fully fenced yard? You could probably slip some eggs under her. I've heard mixed results moving broodies, but that was chickens, not sure how ducks do with it.

Looking for Brahma's for a friend...Anybody know where to find them? Chicks

Nevermind, I thought the gal that took my Roo had mostly Brahma hens but she has a mixed flock and so she will just have a hodge podge of feather footed mixes. She has some Dark Brahma hens but she said that all the crosses of all her other birds all came out with feathered feet last hatch.... so barnyard mutts....but he is HUGE, I kinda want to get a couple from her cause I liked him so much....
