Utah!

Red I hope the new company works out for Jerry! And my bantam is gone. My DH did the deed. She just was not right

She was shaking and becoming more miserable, it was not going to get better. I could not get anything out of her, it was just a huge hard mass. Ugh the part of chickens I do not like at all! So Rest in Peace little "FeeBee".
Hey your SLW/EE crosses could be really cute, have you ever hatched any or tried that before?

Sorry Lisa. It's hard isn't it? Harder when you've had one for a while. No more pain for your little girl.

I've had the opportunity to have one little red pyle (my freebie fm McMurray). She was the best itty bitty chicken ever. Unfortunately something got her, even with lots of cover, a roo and 2 big dogs around. :( I do plan on ordering 2-3 with my next order. Cutest bitty eggs! Pls post pics when you get them. The Phoenixes should be fun too, hope you get one that does the long tail thing!

Well the wife and I just went into the IFA in Hyde Park and order are chicks. The wife got her SLW I am getting a couple of Phoenixes , and the little monster other wise known as the daughter got her old english red pyles. That is to bad Cynthia. Where did you order them from them.

:( I'm so sorry, Lisa. I was wondering if she'd gotten any better or not.

I'd gotten kind of blissful with the no pet loss because we didn't have any pets for a long time, so I'd forgotten just how sad it is when we lose one.

Thanks Lisa. And I'm sorry to hear about your pullet, but it's good that she doesn't have to suffer now. I don't think it's ever really pleasant to lose an animal.

I haven't tried incubating any of the eggs I've gotten yet, but I'm thinking about trying it this Spring. If I do, I'll be sure to keep tabs on how it goes and let you know!

Thanks Sphinx :)

Cynthia---I went out to the coop and the lights are on (usually during the day when I go out it is a bit darker in the henhouse, so I do not look too close at things..)
LaVerne my black EE I got from you....has white coming in on her muffs. How funny is that? She looks like she has frosted white whiskers. There is a lot, I am surprised I have not noticed this before. She is the feather footed gal. Remember somewhere it said white and black together on EE can be roos....hope that is not the case here lol! But she looks pretty cute, like she was eating white frosting and it got on her little muffs, all over the tips. I will see if I can get a pic in the daylight tomorrow. I wonder if this will happen on Shirley, I could not see anything yet.

I wold love to hear how they turn out if you do! Wouldn't SLW with muffs be cute :p

I have three pips this morning. I had one that had pipped last night..I went to bed late last night, thought, well, I could have a pip at this point, I'll look. Didn't expect to really see one! But, it was officially>>tomorrow. lol.. So this morning, three are. I think I will have a few early ones. Crossing fingers this all goes smoothly! These are all blue eggs..so pretty. I have three different people wanting some, so come on babies, all 9 of you. I will be keeping one. I have so many blue eggs to hatch, and green, and I am more looking for a pretty green egg layer myself..I already have a blue layer right now. I think I sent pictures of the breeders page. Will find it again.

Obviously, I didn't do this auction, but she has the same pictures up as she did when she had this same auction up when I won. Pretty chickens those lavenders. That rooster is something else! I want a rooster! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...raucana-hatching-eggs-10-excellent-bloodlines

Those eggs look green, not mine! :) I think getting pictures of egg color is hard. When I took those pics of my blue laying an egg..the egg looked green in the picture.
Here's a picture of my Splash/blue/black Ameraucana eggs that are due to hatch on the 16th. The 4 in the middle rack that are alone, are some that are due to hatch next week, along with the Australorp eggs. :)
My lavenders that are hatching now, are all blue, no greens at all like I said, like the blue ones in this pic..like the first one at the right, and the middle on of three in the third rack. I tried to get pictures of the eggs through the bator, but, the window caused too much flash.

Guess I feel like posting pics today..check out what Melissa Rose sent me, she sent some out to those that were in on the Christmas hatch..that was so much fun on that thread. She is fun! It's a chicken swing! lol... in case ya couldn't tell..

And, I have a lavender trying to start a zip..it has broken quite a bit more shell..I'm excited to see these.

Look Lisa, no collar. I am without it more and more. I have a hard time in the mornings from sleeping without it though, so may go back to sleeping with it on once in a while, wean myself off of it slower at night.

hey elkmtn, did you say your husband had problems with tools rusting? tell him cloth bags of chalk in thee tool box will fix that, and when you get those little packets that come in coats, shoes, etc that absorbs moisture be sure to throw those in the tool box. they also sell little bars by the name of zrust that will do the same thing, you can find them at lowes, cabelas, it was developed by the navy to prevent rust on ships, subs etc.
