Utah!

Lisa..was that guys name Kurk?  How in the world did you meet Him?   He gets around, I know that.  But Logan??

Yup that is him. Kirk. KSL. He was buying all kinds of breeds. His wife was in town today, not sure why---but now he is making a trip back for more this weekend, for the Blue Orps and what not that hatch (hopefully) in the next day or two. He is gonna have a lot of chickens! Whew~! It is so funny that he called, no? And when he said he was from Gunnison, I laughed :) He has chicken math. bad. And I told him about Chickenstock. He was all about that. So watch out Idaho haha! Fun guy though all kidding aside, I bet he has a fun place. :D Lots of chickenpoop though ;)

Oh no we are getting plenty of that lol. And he may not come, it depends on soccer. The main reason he was thinking of coming was to say hi to his big bro---he lives there in Id Falls.... works Saturday but was going to try to run over there for a quick hug on his little brother on his lunch break. They might even take off to go back to his work for a bit. I want to stand in awe of the chickens. Or my little one might do the poultry class, he has thought about doing the fair.

Aww! I always wished I had a big brother, alas, I was the oldest of 4 children, and the 3 younger siblings are all boys! I totally think your son should do the fair! SO awesome. I think we're going to show a goat or two there this year. :D

2 weeks +/- is perfect, as my little chicks are two weeks old tomorrow. I can just integrate it with them and call it good.

Lisa, I really appreciate the offer. Frankly, I'd be more inclined to just catch a ride with you and gab about chickens for a couple hours and see all of the awesome babies. I'm dying to meet Donna. I've met Red, Cynthia and you. We could call it a girls' night out. If it was going to be date night with your dh though, I totally understand and will make other arrangements.

Sasha, I always thought it'd be cool to have an older brother. I have two younger sisters though. Oh well.

Sounds good to me. I will pick you up! I am going by my lonesome..... I cannot remember the directions to your place, so please pm me where to go again....last time the DH drove so I was not paying very close attention to which exit he took :) Probably be there between 6-6:15. IF my last preschooler leaves early I could be there as early as 5:30, but that would be the very earliest. I will text ya and let you know when I leave, if you will add your cell to the pm I do not think I still have yours :)

So Donna I will see you between 6-7 sometime and I will text you too when we leave Wendy's house in Clinton :) And Red I will text you when I leave Donna's house in Bountiful ok :) then on to get the roo for Cindy---to meet a new chicken friend---then my mission is complete!

Awesome, I sent you a PM with directions, Lisa. It's confusing because I'm on the county line so there's an address change, but in general, I think it's pretty easy to get to. You can check out my lavender ams in person and tell me how they compare to yours.

Yay !! Integration week is over. All the teens, pre-teens and adults are together in the run and coop with no cages, no separate areas. Just a few boards and hiding nooks for emergency bipolar moments but so far they are all out in the open eating scratch together. Whew. I hate the cages, separate feeders, putting babies in the house at night, stinky garage, pine shavings all over the house, dust, etc etc etc. Now they can all hang out. Til one gets beat up.....hoping it does not happen this time. I am worried about the Polish, they are so small and petite, and cannot see too well, they are such sweet little babies. We have a separate area we are working on for them just in case....but for now.....Peace! Sigh.... I just have to get the chickies hatched, then go to Idaho next week....then it starts again :th At least this time i should be able to put the bigger new girls directly out.....and have only one batch of little ones in. I have been dealing with four separate age groups that were not able to co-exist when I tried to put some together, so it was getting to be a lot of work. The nicer weather sure makes it easier! Now I get to see how the stress affects egg laying. My big girls always hold out on me a bit when I give them new little playmates.

Lisa, that would be fantastic if you would give me the heads-up when you're on your way to my house Friday

Hmm, I wonder what the deal is with your birds wanting to squabble? I think you must have just lucked out and gotten some of the naughtier individuals, y'know? I think you will like what Cynthia sent home for you! There is a little splash that's in with my bigger girls right now, and she is very sweet. She can be a little shy if she doesn't know you, but so far I haven't had any problems surface with her. I'm excited to give you your new Cynthia babies! They are cute

Sasha, don't say that about the Icelandics! No! NO! I'm berating myself for even wanting a pair, aaarrrggg! One of these days, they're going to find me as dead as an old battery out in the garden, chicks walking all over me.

"What'd'ya think, Chief?" they will say.
"Looks like we got us a CO."
"CO?"
"Chicken Overdoser. They always say it'll stop after just one more. Sooner or later, it catches up with ya."

Right on--looking forward to seeing you all! I should have BLRW's hatching that day, so we can all stare at the incubator for a few minutes and make appropriate admiration noises. Have you ever plyed the flashlight game with newly hatched chicks? It's rather amusing, actually, though probably a little wierd. But then, so am I!

You guys are just way too funny. Red with the voices in her head...and Donna with the flashlight chickie tag, we are a loony bunch I think. It is fantastic!

I am up, it is 12:35 a.m. Been cleaning pine shavings out of the garage all day.....and I came in to give up the ghost on that mess out there....checked my eggs.....I see one pip on a Blue Orp egg. Nada on the Marans and the Wheatens.....8:20 am. in 8 hours marks the 21 day .....so exciting :) One teensy little pip.....hope I can sleep!

I had one blue splash hatch a few hrs ago..tomorrow is hatch day for my last BBS chicks. I don't see any more pips though..that always worries me, but, tomorrow is hatch day. I hope I wake up to some. That baby will have been in there long enough by morning. Will have to snatch it out. It sure did hatch way ahead of the others.
I called Kirk, he usually calls back, but not today. I may have to put these up on ksl if he doesn't call back, little stink.
Had to chuck a lot of Silkie eggs tonight..sad..some showgirl eggs too. I want to keep a couple of those and watch them. I will have the one coop cleared just for the Silkies this winter. Plenty of nest boxes in there for broody girls! :p
