Utah!

So sorry for all the losses corvidae. How horrible, I hope you get some answers soon.

I ended up with 3 babies...2 bantam wyandottes and 1 bantam Cochin. I will get some pics soon.

3 out of 12 eggs is terrible...I won't be setting any eggs from my friend anymore.
I am pretty sure it is a feed issue. Lack of nutrition or something along those lines.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!
Yep, pictures.

Been in Delta for a day and still catching up on posts, but here's what I came home from IFA with:

Believe it or not, she's for my mom, not me. The plan is that whenever I move out and go elsewhere in life, all of the chickens will be coming with me, save for two. My mom would love to have more chickens and wishes she could keep all of the girls, so I went and found the largest chick I could at IFA. She's a SLW, and very sweet, but she's having trouble fitting in. And it looks like she was picked on pretty badly before I got her. I tried to put her in the the chicks who are Stevie's age, and they rejected her. Tried to put her with the big girls to see if they'd take her (they accepted my BO, after all) and they scorned her. Put her in with my Icelandics and thought they were okay, but then SHE started picking on THEM. Sigh..............So she's back with the middle group

Cynthia, that has to be hard to watch your baby go on a mission for two years, but it will go by before you know it! Very exciting! And congrats on the new hen

And it's fun to see all of the baby pictures that people have been posting.

Cute chicks, Blujems! Love them!

Red, I love SLW. I'm sure your girl will be really pretty, and eventually fit in with everyone. I'm sorry she's had trouble adjusting.

Corvidae, I'm literally sick over your losses. Seriously ready to cry for you.

Cynthia, Wheezy (the lavender ameracauna you gave me) is doing great. She had that one day of crying and has been fine since. It's interesting because she wasn't terribly friendly before, but now she comes running to me as fast as the other girls, and I've been so busy I haven't even tempted them with treats lately.

Dirty Dash was lots of fun. Supreme mud. Unfortunately, two of the three water stations were OUT of water, which sucked.

House showing before went well. Wrote an offer. Hopefully the sellers accept. :)

Oh good Shinx..glad to hear it!!

Here is the first egg from my Delaware..I just got her yesterday! So Lisa, this is what to expect when your babies grow up.
Picture in a min. Thank you Lisa! Those babies are darling. Puffy cheeks..I love puffy cheeks. I just think they both may be girls! I am pretty sure on one at least. Good job picking them out.
Jill is a cutie. She took such good care of those babies until they got here. She reminds me, and my hubby of a woman I used to work for at an Assistant Home Living place. I love that lady. Such a sweet and genuine smile, just like Jill.
We had fun talking all about>>what else...chickens! lol..
Here's the picture of the egg the Delaware laid, remember Jill, we thought she was checking out the nest boxes? Well, she was, and she did! Nice sized egg too.

Blu, I love cochins. They are one of the sweetest chickens out there.

Red, I was going to ask if that was a SLW, then I went back and read your post better. Your mom should like her. They are soo pretty.

I will be posting pictures of my chicks tomorrow. I only got 1..yes, 1, Icelandic! Crazy. I was so excited to watch all these different colors come popping out of all the eggs, but only one made it. It's yellow, with a little black on the wings, and I think I see black on the head. It's still fluffing up. I even think it's a girl! Tiny little thing.

Donna the puffing up sounds like coccidiosis, my little Welsummer had it and puffed up and had droopy wings, etc. are your babies on medicated feed? That's all I've got though, I'm new to chickens and that's the only disease I've dealt with so far (thankfully!).

Hey, I'm hoping for some advice. I am having a problem with poo. Actually my mom has the problem. More specifically her chickens do. She asked me to talk to you guys and see if anyone knows what to do with them. Two of her chickens (about 2 months old) are dropping a loose, reddish brown, very yucky, strong smelling poop.

I guess they have been doing it since they have been chicks and she tried Wazine wormer because that was what the feedstore suggested but it didn't get any better. I guess it has a Sulphate base. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and what she can do about it?

Hey just curious, but are you feeding them the medicated stuff? If you are, try switching them to regular crumbles. I had an issue with the medicated feed when my babies were on it. I ws a total dunce and didn't even think that it wasn't good for their systems to have it all the time
