Utah!

Moriah- thanks! I found Sandy's later last night, so that covers it. I kinda like Sandy's laws better. :). DH is currently trying to decide which city works better for us, he is applying to University of Utah for a second BA. He is getting out of the military next year and wants to work with kids with ADHD. Study skills, coping mechanisms, things like that.

I am not sure of a few but I have 3 cochin ( 2 hens and a rooster) a dominique rooster and I have a wellsummer hen. The other hens I have I am not sure about what breed they are. I am hoping that I can post some pics soon so I can find out.

I am not sure about Reno now one of my kitten isn't nursing consistently so I have to tube feed every 2 hours. So far have 11 eggs hatch out of 42, Can't see any more pips and this is day 21. Time will tell I guess. Big dark dark brown egg still quiet dang it, This morning one that hatched was stuck like glue and yelling its head off. Poor baby could not move. I took it to the sink and ran warm water over it to moisten it Then pulled the egg off as it became loose. The whole time it is yelling so It appears to be ok It was all covered with this gooey stuff so I put a bit of soap on its back and got all the gooey stuff off, Then back in the bator to dry. Its in there cheeping its head off and moving so I think it will be ok.

Welcome, Chickie-Chan!!

Chick-in-the-burbs, I'm a realtor, so I tend to follow zoning ordinances. Sandy City will allow up to 6 chickens, no roosters. Provo City will allow up to six hens (no roosters) if your lot size is 10,000 feet plus. If it's at least 6,000 square feet, you can have a couple, but not quite as many. Let me know if you want to hire me. :D It looks like I was slow to post this stuff, you already found everything out. Personally, I'd rather be in Sandy than Provo. Sandy is also more central so that he could either attend the U or BYU or UVU.

Sundance, I'm sorry your girl needed another c-section. Did you opt for the spay because this is two failed births, or were there complications? Can't wait to see pics. Good luck on your chicks! I'm glad your new incubator is working so well. You're hatching some really fun ones. Glad you were able to save the one chick. I hope your kitten starts nursing more consistently. My chicks always are so slow to hatch, the majority come at the end of day 21 and into day 22.

I am really excited in that I haven't had to buy eggs since we went to Yellowstone. I only have three laying, but it seems like that is enough unless my kids go on another omelet kick. I suspect that within the month, I'll have another three laying. Then we'll start having trouble keeping up with egg production. LOL

Gamebirds, cool on the olive eggers! Please let us know on your progress.

Delarooshens, congrats on Sam winning. She was very beautiful.

Welcome, pinkpixie!

Sphinx- I may PM you when we are sure of exactly what we are doing. :) I am liking Sandy better right now but we are still working on the details. Including what to do with our current home. :/. A lot will depend on if we can sell it for a decent price. The market is improving out here but it isn't stupendous. It will be interesting to see what the house next to us sells for. It was foreclosed on three years ago, bought by a flipper a few months back and is back on the market.

So Guess what I found in the coop this morning?

One of the cuckoo marans layed an egg on the coop floor this morning.
Hopefully next time she will find the nest box.

Here it is next to the Silver laced wyandotte's egg and the Ameracauna's egg
