Utah!

Yes, the D'Uccle eggs are very small..I have hatched both the Millies, and the Porcelain..imagine that??? ! LOL
I decided not to keep them, very small bird, very flighty, not very friendly. My leghorns are more friendly. Sorry Lisa..but that's what I found.

Maybe you will get them to be friendly. Those Porcelain sure are pretty though, kept a couple of those for a while because I loved the color.

I told my son that he is going to be right in the Bible belt. Will be interesting for sure, since there are more Baptists there than any other religion...looked it up. In fact, when we lived in VA...we were Baptists. :)) I also lived in Florida..then moved to VA. Then, made the move all the way across the country to good ol Utah, not in a covered wagon, but made the treck in a Greyhound Bus.

Is Austin the one I met that had his wisdom teeth out? All my relatives in Oklahoma are baptists. They are a nice bunch. Austin will enjoy interacting with them

I love mille fleurs. I've been trying to ignore the fact that Sundance is incubating them. I shall have to do the same with Lisa. I definitely want them at some point.

Sundance, I'm sorry you are still in the hospital. Are you feeling any better? Are they nurses letting you sleep at night?

Red, I've heard that it's not a good idea to keep turkeys and chickens together- chickens can carry diseases that are really hard on a turkey. Plus, when turkeys get bigger, the boys can easily crush the hens accidentally. I was reading threads on it, just out of curiosity, not because I was contemplating turkeys after seeing the poults at the feed store last week or anything.... Anyway, our own Whittni had some really great advice.

Oh, my...I hope you do ok with out the Iv. Glad your hubby is so sweet to you.
I can't believe you broke a rib from coughing. That must have been painful.
I hope you get feeling better soon.

The D'Uccles are bantams?? hmm, for some reason I didn't realize that.... I better wait, too then,

I prefer the LF with a few bantam cochin hens for hatching eggs... I'd never had baby chicks in the house before this spring, and while it was fun, it sure is nice to just let the hen do the work.. but I'm still planning on an incubator for Christmas, lol....

Saw some nice pics of some speckled sussex, wow, also very pretty bird.. part of the reason I have been looking at the swedish flower hens... that mille fleur/speckled feather pattern really is pretty!

Oh my goodness Diana! You are very blessed to have such a sweet and understanding husband, taking care of not only you, but your favorite animals. That is just great. You tell him that we admire his gentleman way. He loves you a lot to be calling you and letting you know about your animals. That's so neat.

I see they have a different way to put up pictures..smart! You can make a decision as to how big you want them. Guess our big pictures were taking up a lot of space! Here are the eggs I got today..and I am just loving the olive green ones. This is what I've been wanting, like Lisa has been wanting that blue blue egg..I've been wanting a real green egg.

Love the ones up front

Ordered 10+ got 11

Ya they are pretty small! Here is the main site info:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/products/belgian-duccle

I had not heard anywhere before that they were ornery, lots rave about how docile, so it might just be the different breeder flocks vary.....I talked to a breeder that said they do fly up because they are so tiny. But they are really cute. If you do not want bantams at all I think you can get mille fleur pattern on other breeds.....not positive but I thought i had seen other breeds in this pattern anyway, worth checking into :)

Cynthia, Nice colorful eggs! Can't wait to have baby pics from you. Serious withdrawals!

Sundance, hang in there! I have broken a rib from coughing----it is awful because it hurts so bad everytime you cough. I hope they are giving you the really yummy syrup with the good stuff in it, that really knocks you out and stops that bad cough...hope that stuff clears out and packs up to leave permanently!

Those are a pretty green - and congrats on the call!

Those are gorgeous eggs, Cynthia. I could've sworn that when they first converted to this board format, when we put a picture in, we could adjust the size. Then, if you clicked on the picture, you could see the bigger version. I liked that a lot.

Honestly, I could see this hanging on my wall as an art print. Love those shades of green!

How are the showgirls doing, by the by?

Sundancen, are you allowed to have baked goodies in there? (Do you like baked goodies? lol) I may just slip over to see you and bring some contraband with me. Hospitals are so not fun to be stuck in.

Anyone want to come storm the hospital with me? It'd be tonight or tomorrow morning.

Hey, guess what? They found the tools that were in our truck when it was stolen! So my boyfriend gets his tools back! Yaaaay
