she keeps running, does not like that shiny camera lol! so the way it worked.....a marans crossed with an ameraucana to produce an olive egger. THEN that olive egger hen was bred to a Marans again to make the olive darker. this chick hatched from that olive egg. So it will lay dark dark olive, hopefully, but a chance it will be dark Marans brown. The eggs are really nice sized. You are welcome to her, I owe you a chicken or two lol! And the eggs would come in about 2 months!

New layer! yay! My GSL laid today. And I found out the greenish blue egg did come from Fatface the black and white EE from Cynthia! That is cool, I was worried it might lay tan, so greenish blue is great :) Eggs are soft-ish, break super easy so will have to get that gal some oyster shell down her.

Oh, Lisa, that girl is beautiful!!! If Cynthia doesn't want her (and yeah, Cynthia is owed some gift chickens FOR SURE), I sure do!

Sundance, I heard a hilarious story of someone using bluing to make their white chickens extra white for a show. Except it backfired, and the chickens were blue. So don't do that!! I've decided that I want to do your kitten photography in the future for your ads. I'd love to play with your kitties. How big is your incubator? That's a LOT of fun eggs.

Cynthia, I am so impressed that the seller refunded your money like that. What an ethical businessperson!

Thing 2 is acting like everything is all better. :)

Red fun picture. You're such a cute tiny little thing! Thanks for posting a picture. Love the BO. Lucky!

Ok so here are the last two. The little Maran was the last to hatch.

Oh and I forgot to show you the other mystery chick that hatched.

My poor little white Silkie is still trying to hatch hers. She is sitting on two eggs. I'll wait one or two more days but then try and get her to stop being broody.

Cynthia--I am coming to SLC Friday for the Journey concert (yay for 80's rock haha!!) WE will be in SLC around 4:30 and could meet you or find a chicken friend there in town to help us keep her until you could get her from SLC...Sphinx, you will be my plan B for sure, if Cynthia does not want her I can drop her to you on our way about 3:45 - 4 if someone would be home to get her.

Lisa I am so jealous of you going to a Journey concert! I have wanted to see them for a long time. I'm a big Journey fan. They were big in the bay area where we lived for a while in California.
Love them. Did not know they were doing a concert in SLC.
