My kids all watched this and now I'm afraid there is nothing our hens will be able to do that could impress them, unless a dragon popped out of one of their eggs.....

I think we have a pretty big storm coming this weekend. Only go out if you need to.

My girls were loving this heat wave today. Finally a high that was not below zero or barely over! We have had this inversion mess and it has been icy cold, way colder than the temps in the forecast have been reporting. I was filling their water bowl in the wee hours last week when it was -20 out. We not only got above zero today, but clear up in the thirties and things were dripping! WOW! So I looked at the forecast, and extended forecast, and I see no single digits or below zero temps in the next ten days. I think it is time to party, what do you guys think? Bring on the eggs girls.

Not one hen was in the coop during the day today, it was nice to see them not so miserable

Seriously, I cannot believe I am this excited about a forecast of 20s and 30s. Yay! With the forecast going into February I have to hope and pray we will not see below zero again this season...

Have you ever seen a chicken ice skate? When I let the girls out of the coop today they hit that frozen ice and they were slipping and sliding all over the place. It was pretty comical. They did not know what to do, They went back into the coop and looked out the door then tiptoed one by one over the ice oath to the gazebo where there is dry dirt for then to bath, They did not like the ice at all. The ice is brutal out there,

Ugh, this ice storm here was pretty miserable. I think I have over an inch of ice on my driveway. I tried to get ice melt on it. Hopefully that fixes it a little.

My kids really want us to have an egg within an egg now.

If you end up finding a source do post and let us know, I would love to hear where..that sounds fun I had to go chisel the ice off my daughters windshield this morning because she could not figure out how to get the scraper through it. It was bad....but I was so glad to see anything thaw I did not mind lol Gary, great link lol
