They are white leghorn covered by lavender Ameracauna. You are welcome to some when they hatch!

I have room for only one or two. I think they turn out beautiful!

cyndi, did you get your leghorn mix..with the Ameraucana from DMRippy? I think that's how he spells it. Some of us have that mix. They lay often, mine and Red's lays a green egg..but they lay almost every day!

Well, my babies didn't make it. They were all dead. I called Ideal. Of course they refunded me. It was just too sad to see. They had put some male Ameraucanas in..well..EE's, to for warmth. They were so darn cute and fluffy! But, didn't help. Too cold out there. I should have known. I feel awful. Poor babies. I have a friend that just got some from McMurry..she also had a lot of them dead, only a few made it. They are replacing..I won't do that right now. Not after seeing this. I have more olive eggs on the way that are even darker than the ones I have in my bator to go into lock down on Sunday. Only 5 of them left. The cold got to them too. They had that fluid in the bottom, and the air sacs were horrible. Two out of the 5 that are thriving, made it with that fluid in the bottom of the egg. Not sure they will make it. When you see that, they usually pip and drown. Have to cross my fingers on the other three, and hope that these that were sent out today will be her by Mon. and do well. They are really pretty!

Oh Cynthia, I am so sorry. That is so sad! I would hate to get a silent box of chicks, and guessing what I was going to see when I opened it up.

Sundance, I sure hope you have better luck with your shipment.

Lisa, I like the idea of a lav/legbar mix, except that the eggs are kind of tricky to tell apart, and I would want to be absolutely sure I had legbar eggs, you know? I kind of think I'll put the lav with the FBCM for that reason. I have a lav/fbcm, and she is so beautiful. She actually looks a LOT like one of those BBS marans I saw.

Found this paw print at the entrance to the barn. It wasn't there when I collected eggs, but was there an hour later when I tucked them in for the night.

Moriah, where are you, again? It almost looks like a really weird bear print, but I would think they would sink in a lot further due to their weight. Whatever it was, it looks like it was kind of stepping around or moving around in that spot for a minute.

Cynthia -YES that is what they looked like- so pretty. Good to know their eggs will be more green. I really would like a blue egg but even the Ameraucana eggs I put in look just like my EE eggs I already get

Where oh where do I find a good blue egg for my basket???

When I had his eggs..I had a great hatch! Good luck. With that many eggs, you should get some babies!

Blue egg? I finally got a real nice blue egg from a Wheaten Ameraucana from Lisa. Quite pretty egg, and the chicken is a sweetheart. Not sure where she got them? Lisa?

I have to tell you about a mouse trap that I bought! It's a box, with two entries to it. They walk on the ramp, it closes behind them, and they can't get back out. I put some peanut butter in the middle. This thing has a window on the top so you can see how many are in there. I went out today to change the water for my girls that are in that grow out pen, and saw a couple of mice moving around. I picked it up and started counting. 5! Wow, I need another one of these. I put it back out in the smaller coop, waiting to see what happens there. Love this thing.

Cynthia- sorry about your shipment of babies. I talked to the people I know at IFA today. They said they should have chicks this time next week and they expect to have Naked Necked Turkins.
I would love to know the brand of mouse trap.

NN's?! Where did you say you lived? I want another white one so bad. Not sure I will get one that looked like my girl, with the nice feathered front of neck, but it would be fun to see if they have one.
