cynthia i have seen those at cal ranch and ifa but i was not sure how well they would work. will have to get a few now. i do see them set up by the door at cal ranch and by the door for the lumbar yard at lowes. and it would be chicken safe

I think we have some of the most bizarre things happen here. Yesterday, I noticed that the heat lamp out in the coop was out, again. It was an older bulb, so I figured that I needed to put a new bulb in. I did just that today, and it still wouldn't turn out. I ended up excavating some of the cord and found out that where the lamp plugged into the extension cord, the junction had somehow melted. So, now the lamp is toast, and so is the extension cord

Time to get a new lamp, but I just realized that I need another extension cord, too. This time I am going to wrap that junction in electrical tape and hang it on the run under a board.

And, I've got pictures this morning. Prepare for a picture overload. These first few are of the Icelandics, who are currently in the garage. Hattie, look how pretty those two girls you gave me are!

Gunther's comb is still healing, but Sven is doing so much better.

Off I go to shovel 2 feet of snow out of the garden and pretend it's spring!
