Utah!

Cynthia, those hatching eggs are sure beautiful. Good luck with that hatch.

It's entirely possible it was someone else's egg. I've never had a chicken eat an egg before. And when I've gotten the occasional brittle egg, I've found all the shell. There was zero shell, not even fragments. Who knows. Hopefully it's nothing.

Blujems, congrats on the kids! They are soooooo cute. I am trying really hard to resist the urge to buy a couple goats.

Lisa, when are your chicks supposed to arrive?

Sundancen, it seems like I've seen disneyland passes at Costco. Have you tried calling there to see if they have them?  I need to take my kids. I took my older kids to Tokyo Disney about 8 years ago, but the littles have never been.

March 4. I preordered back in November....I wanted to get them when it is a little warmer because there are so darn many, I could not manage them in the house for too long, they will need to go outside as soon as it is warm enough with a light out in the coop :) But MAN it is hard to wait :p I have never gotten a chick order, my first time, so I am freaking out excited! You guys are probably so tired of hearing about it sorry haha :love

Sundance, when we went to Disney we used getawaytoday.com. They had great hotel/pass packages (back then) it has been a few years, but you could google and check to see if it is still a good deal.

Blue, those baby goats are darling! I love their little faces.

Okay Cynthia, I am posting on here like a good girl and letting you know that I made it home in one piece

I sure hope those eggs work alright for you, or I'm gonna be giving my boys a talking to! All show and no results, bah.

And now, my dears, I'm going to bed.

Hey guys!! Sorry , I had to skip ahead, I love all the chick pics I saw and know several of you are incubating=)

Been crazy here, I had to go back to work full-time this month

so been busy..In fact,I really need to go to bed now, lol...

I set some more eggs today from my girls, and my FBCM's started laying, along with the Ameracaunas!! I have some swaps to fill and then I will hopefully be able to sell/trade some eggs, woohoo!! I'll be setting my own here for the first little bit to make sure fertility is good, and I need to gift a few of you some eggs for all the chicken trains you have helped with, then the swaps then there will be more eggsavailable again=) Seriously... Lisa and Sundance and Red and Moriahquilts... I owe you guys eggs, or a started pullet, or something....

Speaking of, Lisa... the Delaware pullets I got from birdguy are laying large eggs, both of them... it must depend on the bird?? I don't know but they are great layers... has Bella started laying?? I 'm pretty sure one of the girls at my mom's has started... actually kind of an olive egg!!

Red, so glad you made it home safe! You worked, then came here. We had a great talk, about chickens and turkeys of course. And other things. Love talking to that young lady!
You guys should see the eggs she brought! Those olive eggs are as much green as the ones I ordered. If I had known earlier, I would have bought some from her instead! They are very pretty, and a couple are a light green, and one is more blue/green. Very pretty eggs. It's probably fun gathering eggs at her place everyday! What a sweetheart of a gal.

Baby goats! 4 baby goats! That mama must have looked huge. Is she doing well? Those babies are really cute.

Lisa, why didn't I know you ordered chicks? Who did you order from? When are they due to come? I hope they make it as well as Sundances'.

I was setting up my new bator, yes, I got another still air. My old one is so bad. It's been used for three years. While I was setting it up by my other bator..still air..I heard...cheep cheep cheep! I have 5 in lock down..not due to hatch until Wed. Now I will worry, because two of them have air sacs that go half way up one side of the egg. I hope it can reach the shell. I have had them do ok, and some not make it.

The Mama goat is doing great. I came inside to get bottles warmed up for the other 2 babies and she pushed all 4 out before I got back out there.

and yes, Jessi can milk the goats. The next one that is kidding is one that she can milk easily.
This is a pic from last year

I kept a dozen delawares... and they are all laying large eggs... a lot darker than I expected on a couple of them and the one with the white bloom but all large to extra large. I've been pleased with them. I'm excited for my sex link project using them... starting at Easter, I will have sex link chicks for sale, they should be excellent layers!!

Glad mama goat is doing good. cute picture from last year..bet that cute little think in pink is a lot taller by now if it was taken last year. :)

birdguy, Lisa, you guys are killing me! sex link chicks..and Lisa,, NN's?? Why can't I have at least..ummm, 25 chickens? Then I just might get all of the kind I like. One of each kind I like..lol, I must at least have 25 different breeds that I like now.
I am going for mostly egg layers now. Tried the broody thing,,darling little Silkies, I just love them, but I can't have all tiny eggs and/or a mama sitting. So, keeping one bantam for now. My Favorelle. She is squatting, so here we go, we'll see how long she lays until she goes broody.
I love having the egg layer that gives me color..olive I just may get this year. :)) I love Leghorns. I love the sex links. I think my australorp will do well. My last was a stinker of a bossy girl. This one is sweet.

I heard chirping last night in my eggs that are in lock down, but don't see a pip yet. :( I was hoping to see something this morning. I am hoping it can reach the shell, like I said, a couple had some funky air sacs.

Will set Red's and the others today. Olive eggs! They sure lay a nice sized egg!

Not sure about having a lot of chicks Lisa, the air sacs in the shipped ones have been really bad. I am down to 5 in my barred rock, and they still have a week and a half to go. Those are the ones that the guy replaced too. So nice of him. I would think that Iowa would be a place I wouldn't get eggs from any longer, but, the cold is getting the eggs. I am worried about the other olive eggs I'll set today. They came from California, but came to this cold. We'll see by tomorrow morning..I'll check for bullseyes.

Daloorashens, yes Bella started laying a fw weeks after we got her, and she lays the biggest egg in my flock. And Every single day! So I ordered more Leghorn /EE eggs to hatch, because she is amazing :0 Thank you! Her eggs are greenish though, not so bluish. I really like her a lot though, and she gets along really well with the others. She is a Keeper, for sure!

Birdguy, my Delaware lays every single day too, she is a great layer, but her eggs are not as big as the ones you guys are getting. I def want to try one more, because her temperament and egg laying is good, but I think she was just a smaller bird, she is so tiny compared to my others, which would explain the smaller egg. I got two from you and the other chick was a lot bigger, should have kept that one too! Her egg has lots of bloom on it, usually pretty pinkish, but also darker brown underneath than I expected. Don't forget I definitely want to get a sex link from you when you hatch yours! I bet they will be fantastic! Save one for me please!

Blujems, that picture is so cute! She really does the milking! Ha ha my son will be so jealous when I show him. Maybe she could show him sometime, he would really get a kick out of that!

Cynthia, I ordered 5 NN hoping to get a good color... they come in various colors, and I wanted to pick from a few :) Sure hope they send cute ones. Has yours laid yet? Wondering how they lay. Good luck on all these hatches! Hope the chirping one pips soon. That makes me crazy, waiting, worrying about waiting too long, wondering what is going on!

Lisa, no, remember? I lost my only NN this winter to the cold. My white girl. :( She would probably be laying by now, or soon. I have that non NN that is really looking like she could start any min. She hatched a few days later of my NN.
