I got 2 of your 'sparkles' chicks to hatch. I sure hope one is a girl. The first one is drying out, it looks lighter than the last one I hatched. The second one is still wet, can't tell if the coloring is any different. Cute little EE's, the muffs are great on these. The 3rd sparkles egg was a goner, I could tell it felt really light, I opened it and it was just developed a little then gone. Could not candle that egg at all it was so thick. The marans are left to hatch, a couple pips. I only have 5 that made it to lockdown, but I will be surprised if they all hatch because I could not see in those very well either so I have no idea what is going on inside

Yes, practice and finding a spot that doesn't have big temp. flucuations. I want to try a few of the Wheaten with the FBCM and see if they produce some good Olive Eggers. then I have to take a break so I don't have any chicks by the end of May. Got too much we are hoping to do this summer.
I was so happy 9 out of 13 made it to lock down. Much better rate than the last few times.

I will let Brandi know that you got those chicks..I was wondering what the black and white chicks were.. Now I know.

Are you guys talking about ~ Bargain~ from GA? That's who I bought my Lavender chick eggs from..that a lot of you ended up with. I think we were all a bit disappointed in those. They didn't get very big did they, not that I wanted a huge girl, but they were pretty small. But yes, I had a great hatch from them.

I remember you had a great hatch, the chicks were the cutest ever. I got 1 boy and 1 girl, and birdguy took the boy...I still have my girl. She is super small, her eggs are small and more green colored. But she has a great temperament, and she lays nearly every day. So it was a trade off. My boy is crazy about her, I was going to sell her this Spring to make room for more chicks. But he is fighting me on it

I did talk to Brandi on FB this morning, and she texted me...we have to figure rides out, not sure what she wanted. The Houdans are a little more, with shots and sexed female they cost a bit more, so I am asking $6, but will sell for less for a bigger batch. I think my cost with tax was about $5.30 ish per chick.

Hey everyone! Long time no post. I am falling victim to chicken math. I am working on building a bigger coop and we are going to add some girls to the flock.
Does anyone know if the IFA in Hyde Park has chicks yet and if so, what breeds? We are really just looking to have a diverse flock. Currently we have 1 GSL, 1 BSL, 2 EE's and 2 Cuckoo Marens. Any suggestions on what to get next?

They do, just basic breeds so far. If you want to peek on KSL there are some pics of some I am selling...I am in Logan by you. I have one extra BR, 1 GSL, 1 NN turken, 6 white Polish, 8 Mottled Houdans, 2-3 WCB Polish, 1 silver laced polish, and hatching FBCMarans today They are all sexed female except the FBCM, and the Silver laced polish. Those are straight run. There is someone is Benson that may have wheaten ameraucana chicks, she was hatching today (blujems) but not sure if she is selling you could ask her

Oh also SashaT is hatching bantams here in Cache Valley too.
